Northern California Contact Center Association

The Northern California Contact Center Association (NCCCA) has been a pillar of support for the contact center industry in Northern California since its inception around 2007. Founded as a volunteer-driven initiative, the NCCCA’s primary mission has been to promote the contact center business while providing invaluable networking and educational opportunities for its members. A unique aspect of the NCCCA is its commitment to being accessible and inclusive, setting itself apart by not requiring any fees for attendance at its events. Instead, the association relies on sponsorships to cover costs, ensuring that the only investment required from attendees is their time.

Promoting Education and Networking

The NCCCA’s events are designed to be both informative and engaging, with a strong emphasis on education rather than sales. Vendors are invited to sponsor breakfasts or lunches and are given the opportunity to share insights into the latest trends and advancements in the contact center industry. This approach has fostered a collaborative environment where attendees, comprised of 60% public sector and 40% private sector professionals, can learn from one another and stay updated on industry developments.

Addressing Key Challenges

Two major themes consistently emerge from the feedback received from NCCCA members: the challenges of recruiting and retaining talented individuals, and the impact of technology, particularly AI, on the contact center industry. These issues are critical in both robust and challenging economic climates, underscoring the importance of finding and maintaining a skilled workforce. The NCCCA’s efforts to address these concerns through its events and initiatives have been instrumental in supporting the region’s contact centers.

Partnership with SETA Sacramento Works

A factor in the success of the NCCCA’s events has been its partnership with SETA Sacramento Works. As one of the regional organizations the NCCCA has collaborated with, SETA Sacramento Works has played a crucial role in facilitating the association’s activities. According to Walt Sweeny, a steering committee member of the NCCCA, SETA Sacramento Works has been exceptional in providing logistical support, including the room set-up, advising on catering, and managing other event details.

SETA Sacramento Works’ central location and accommodating staff have made it an ideal partner for the NCCCA. The conference room sizes are well-suited to the association’s needs, and the SETA team’s willingness to go the extra mile has made organizing events a seamless experience. Sweeny emphasizes, “SETA is easy to do business with. Everybody says that but you guys really step up and that means a lot.”

Impact and Future Outlook

The collaboration between the NCCCA and SETA Sacramento Works exemplifies how strategic partnerships can enhance the effectiveness of industry associations.

Looking ahead, the NCCCA aims to continue its tradition of providing valuable educational content and networking opportunities while adapting to the evolving needs of the industry. With the ongoing support of partners like SETA Sacramento Works, the association is well-positioned to navigate future challenges and continue serving as a vital resource for the contact center community.
