Sacramento Works for Youth

Applicants must meet the following criteria

  • Be 18 – 24 years old
  • Attend a 40 hour work skills training course
  • Live within one of the following zipcodes*
    *Applicants must live in one of the following zipcodes: 95652, 95660, 95673, 95758, 95811, 95814, 95815, 95816, 95817, 95818, 95819, 95820, 95821, 95822, 95823, 95824, 95825, 95826, 95828, 95829, 95831, 95832,95833,95834, 95835, 95837, 95838, 95841, 95864.

And applicants must have one or more of the following barriers:

  • Disability
  • History of juvenile offense
  • Homeless
  • A low-income individual (i.e., their household income is below the poverty  line or 70% of the lower living standard income level)
  • An English language learner
  • Pregnant or parenting
  • An individual who requires additional assistance to enter or complete an education program or to secure or hold employment
The Sacramento Works for Youth – Thousand Strong program will provide youth ages 18-24 impacted by poverty or crime, or otherwise disadvantaged, vocational skills training and employment placement.
