Program Overview

Eligibility Requirements:

  • No Prior Experience Required- Ideal for individuals new to the workforce.
  • Age- Individuals between 16-24 years old.
  • Location- Must be able to work in one of the Old Navy stores situated in Sacramento County.
  • Work at one of the Old Navy stores located in Sacramento County.
  • Work Permit- Under 18 applicants need to obtain a work permit.
  • Availability- Must be able to attend a mandatory in-person training session on a Saturday from 8 am to 12:30 pm

Application Process:

  • Fill out and submit the required registration form.
  • Attend Virtual Orientation regarding program and Next Steps!
  • Participate in a scheduled store meet-and-greet sessions with managers.
  • Complete all mandatory training sessions.
  • Schedule and attend a Virtual Hiring Interview with the selected Old Navy store.

Mandatory Work Readiness Skills Training

This Way ONward  4 Hour Training SESSION :

  • Able to attend an in-person Saturday Session  from 8am to 12:30pm.

Engage with Store Managers:

  • Interact directly with experienced managers.
  • Learn about their career paths, daily responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Ask questions and seek advice on advancing in the retail industry.

Learn about Retail Customer Service:

  • Understand the fundamentals of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Role-playing scenarios to practice handling customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Gain insights into creating positive customer experiences.

Train on Conflict Management:

  •  Learn strategies for resolving conflicts with customers and coworkers.
  • Participate in workshops that simulate real-life situations.
  • Develop skills to maintain a professional demeanor during challenging interactions.

Develop Interview Techniques:

  • Gain tips for preparing for job interviews in the retail sector.
  • Practice answering common interview questions.
  • Receive feedback on body language and communication skills.

Schedule Your Virtual Interview:

  • Assistance in setting up and preparing for a virtual interview with an Old Navy store.
  • Guidance on what to expect during the interview process.
  • Tips on leveraging the insights gained from training sessions to make a strong impression.

These sessions provide a comprehensive foundation for those looking to build a career in retail and ensure participants are well-prepared for employment at Old Navy or similar environments.
