Virtual Construction Pre-Apprenticeship
Yolo County and Highlands Community Charter School are presenting the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) Construction Pre-Apprenticeship 6-Week Training Course starting June 13, 2022. This course in the construction and building trades will prepare the jobseeker for a pre-apprenticeship. Join any virtual information session on May 18 or May 19, 2022, at 11am or 5pm. The sessions include construction industry structure and the construction process; orientation to apprenticeship; tools of the various trades; safe handling of both hand and power tools; and, industry standards of work responsibility and craft excellence. Jobseekers must register and attend a virtual information session. With MC3, a learner picks up tools and techniques of the Skilled Trades – from plumbing to electrical work, to sheet metal and iron work – under the guidance of master craftworkers. Graduates of the course will receive up to $1,000 in cash incentives for completion of the course; up to $1,000 for obtaining placement in a state-approved apprenticeship program; $500 for placement in construction related employment; $300 for placement in other employment, and, up to $500 for tools & materials.
