Services & Supports for Job Seekers with Disabilities

While many persons with disabilities would like to work and become self-sufficient, the anxiety and confusion about how making money will impact their financial and medical benefits often discourages them from pursuing their goals. Many also have concerns about how to approach an employer, when to disclose their disability, and accessibility, accommodations, and transportation issues.

The Disability Program Navigator (DPN) and Ticket to Work programs were created to help the customer with a disability who wants to work, navigate through the complexities of government rules and regulations, overcome barriers, and create strategies for successfully gaining and retaining employment through the Sacramento Works Job Center system.

Ticket to Work

Receiving Social Security benefits? Between the ages of 18-64? Want to work?

If you answered “Yes!” to these questions you have a “Ticket to Work” and – most likely – a lot of questions. We can help.

The Social Security Administration has approved SETA as an Employment Network to provide SSA beneficiaries with a variety of services and supports to help you plan and achieve your employment goals. Benefits include career planning and coaching, job search assistance, assessments, resume and interview preparation, access to training and workshops, and benefits planning. This service and others are provided by Crossroads Diversified Services at several Sacramento Works Job Centers.

Jointly funded by the ETA and SSA, the DPN Initiative promotes comprehensive services and work incentive information for people with disabilities through the Job Center system.
