TRiO provides the tools needed to plan for College/University enrollment/transfer, and to pursue career pathways. TRiO Programs were the first national college access and retention programs to address cultural and socioeconomic barriers to educational access in America. Upward Bound (UB 1964), Talent Search (TS 1965), Student Support Services (SSS 1968) and the Educational Opportunities Centers (EOC 1972) formed the first Federal programs designed to foster increased educational opportunity and attainment.
